The audio CD, What Are Numbers? introduces the quality of numbers 1-12, each with a beautiful story and song. The content is ideal for teachers and home schooling parents. You can plan your lessons around it or use it to compliment existing learning material. The stories are rich in captivating imagery for drawing and painting. The melodies of the songs are easy to learn and ideal for singing and acting.
Young children as yet cannot comprehend all the notes of the major and minor scales. So all the songs were composed in the pentatonic scale according to Waldorf principles. It creates a lovely dreamy and peaceful effect and is perfect for the children’s current development phase. The arrangements and singing were done simply but beautifully and the CD provides for pleasant listening. The focus, however is on the learning and singing of the songs.
The content of the audio CD is based on the well-loved teacher resource “Putting the Heart Back into Teaching” by Stan Maher and Yvonne Bleach and is published by the Novalis Institute who runs the popular Teacher Enrichment Inset Programs in South Africa. These programs offer school and center based professional development workshops.
